From direction Liptovský Mikuláš you can get Orava by the road Nr. II/584 which goes through the Huty's notch.

From direction Zakopané - Suchá Hora (frontier crossing) you can get the road Nr.II/520 which connects to the international road E77.

From neighbouring Poland the international road E77 goes through the frontier crossing Trstená-Chyžné to Orava.

From the north direction Orava is connected to Poland by the road Nr. II/521 through frontier crossing Oravská Polhora - Korbielów.

Railway transport is realised by the line Nr. 181 Kraľovany - Dolný Kubín - Trstená.
